A Seller on OLX loses Rs 8 Lakhs in Cyber Fraud

A Man selling Cupboard Online was seeking a Buyer and resulted in losing 8 Lakh from a Fraudster who posed as an Army Personnel

On 29 September, Fraudster contacted him and made him scan the QR Code sent on WhatsApp. Instead of Crediting Rs 7000, he got debited Rs 96000. And when he questioned him, fraudster said a Technical Error and he said for refunding, army technical expert will contact you.  

He sent him Army person photo in Uniform to Gain his Trust, later they told him to add as a Beneficiary for the credit of Rs 96000. In the Process, Krushnan started receiving 2 text alerts for his 2 Bank Accounts HDFC and ICICI and it gave him a huge shock as Rs 2Lakh and Rs 5Lakh got transferred to new beneficiary. 

Krushnan immediately blocked his Accounts and lodged complaint in Nerul Police Department.
